2024 HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon A Sell-Out
Organisers of the upcoming HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon are pleased to announce that the 2024 event is now officially a sell-out.
The final entries for the Sunday May 5 event were snapped up in recent days, with more than 19,000 runners to descend on the streets of Sydney’s CBD for either a half marathon or 10km event.
The 2024 event has seen strong growth, with the runner numbers up from 13,000 in 2023, with more than 75% set to take part for the first time.
HOKA Runaway Sydney Race Director Renay Vreeken said that the event team was looking forward to welcoming the more than 19,000 runners to the start line this May.
“We’re thrilled to be able to announce that this year’s HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon is a sell out and we can’t wait to have more than 19,000 runners take to the streets of Sydney’s CBD in May,” said Vreeken. “This will be the biggest edition of the event ever, with it first being held back in 1992, and we look forward to a record-breaking day on Sunday 5 May.
“We added the 10km event to the program last year, allowing more people than ever before to be a part of this great festival of running,” she said. “It’s great to see people lining up for either the 10km or half marathon and I’m sure it’s going to be a day to remember for all of our runners, volunteers, partners and event stakeholders.
“The HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon takes in some of Sydney’s most iconic spots, winding its way around the harbour and through Pyrmont, with runners heading along the Cahill Expressway and through the Royal Botanical Gardens before crossing the finish line,” said Vreeken. “The event is set to be the one of the largest half marathons in the country this year and we look forward to welcoming runners of all ages and abilities to the streets of Sydney.”
This May’s HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon will be the 31st edition of the event, with it first being held back in 1992.
