HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon A Sell-Out
Organisers of the upcoming HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon are pleased to announce that the 2025 event is now officially a sell-out.
The final entries for the Sunday 4 May event were snapped up in recent days, with more than 25,000 runners to descend on the streets of Sydney’s CBD for either a half marathon or 10km event.
The 2025 event has seen strong growth, with the runner numbers up from 19,000 in 2024, with almost 75% set to take part for the first time.
HOKA Runaway Sydney Regional Director Leanna Ali said that the event team was looking forward to welcoming the more than 25,000 runners to the start line this May.
“We’re thrilled to be able to announce that this year’s HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon is a sell out and we can’t wait to have more than 25,000 runners take to the streets of Sydney’s CBD in May,” said Ali. “2024 was a record-breaking year with more than 19,000 taking part and it’s to see the event continue to grow this year, with thousands more to take to the course on Sunday 4 May.
“We added the 10km event to the program in 2023, which has allowed more people than ever before to be a part of this great festival of running,” she said. “It’s great to see people lining up for either the 10km or half marathon and I’m sure it’s going to be a day to remember for all of our runners, volunteers, partners and event stakeholders.
“The HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon takes in some of Sydney’s most iconic spots, winding its way around the harbour and through Pyrmont, with runners heading along the Cahill Expressway and through the Royal Botanical Gardens,” said Ali. “The event is set to be the one of the largest half marathons in the country this year and we look forward to welcoming runners of all ages and abilities to the streets of Sydney.”
This May’s HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon will be the 32nd edition of the event, with it first being held back in 1992.
With general entries sold out, the only way into the event now is through limited charity partner spots. Those wishing to run for charity can apply here: runawaysydneyhalf.com.au/fundraising
