Over 19,500 To Hit The Streets This Sunday For Sold-Out HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon
Runners from across Australia and around the world will descend on Sydney this Sunday for the HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon, one of Australia’s largest half marathons.
More than 19,5000 runners will take on either the half marathon or 10km event, with this year’s sold-out event the largest in its history.
The event will start on Macquarie Street, with runners making their way around the harbour foreshore, taking in the best of Sydney, before finishing alongside Hyde Park.
Renay Vreeken, HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon Race Director, said that the team was looking forward to welcoming runners to the streets of Sydney this Sunday.
“We can’t wait to see a sold-out field of more than 19,500 runners on the start line this Sunday for this much-loved Sydney event,” said Vreeken. “The response from runners has been incredible, with the 2024 event selling out back at the start of the March and we look forward to seeing a sea of people make their way around the streets of Sydney.
“The HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon takes in some of Sydney’s most iconic spots, winding its way around the harbour and through Pyrmont, with runners heading along the Cahill Expressway and through the Royal Botanical Gardens before crossing the finish line,” she said. “The event is set to be the one of the largest half marathons in the country this year and we look forward to welcoming runners of all ages and abilities to the streets of Sydney.”
The HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon sits alongside three incredible destination running events across Australia and New Zealand as part of the Runaway Marathon Series. The Runaway Marathon Series takes runners to Queenstown and Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand and Noosa in Queensland, all destinations where natural beauty, world class running, local hospitality and food and wine options make for so much more than just another running event.
There will be a number of road closures across the CBD and Pyrmont on Sunday, with full details available here: https://runawaysydneyhalf.com.au/travel-info/traffic-impact/
