Registration & Start Wave

Full details on HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon Event terms and conditions can be found here.  Unfortunately, we do not have a deferral program for this event. Important: Our event terms and conditions are clearly stated and applied evenly to ensure equity across all athletes.

Athletes can request to transfer their entry to a lesser or greater race distance up until such time as that race distance is sold out, subject to the following terms:  

  • To request a transfer from one race distance to another, athletes must log into their My Registration and select Change Category before 5:00pm (AEST) on 1May 2025. After this date, such requests can only be made at the Help Desk at Athlete Check-in.  

  • Transferring to a greater distance: Where an athlete requests to transfer to a greater distance and space is available, the athlete is required to pay the difference in entry fees between the two distances.  

  • Transferring to a shorter distance: Where an athlete requests to transfer to a shorter distance and space is available, the difference in entry fees will not be refunded.  

  • Athletes who deferred into this event, are required to contact runawaysydney@theironmangroup.comto request a change in distance.   

Athletes can transfer their race entry to someone else in accordance with the below stated Person to Person Transfer date:  

  • Person-to-Person transfers accepted up until 11:59pm (AEST) on 1st May 2025. No Person-to-Person transfers accepted after this date.  After this date, such requests can only be made at the Help Desk at Athlete Check-in.  

  • A transfer fee of $27AUD including all fees and taxes will be charged to the withdrawing athlete.  

  • Athletes can formally transfer their entry to someone else within the same distance event already entered.  

  • Additional purchases paid for at the time of entry (if any) which are paid by the Event Operator to a third-party are not refundable and will not be transferred with your entry. These non-refundable additional purchases include:  

  • Bib Postage 

  • Pre-purchased photo packs (please contact Sportograf directly) 

  • Donations 

  • Your options regarding refunds for merchandise purchased during registration are outlined in the Online Stores Terms and Conditions available via (https://runaway-series.myshopify.com/pages/terms-conditions). Please note that refunds are not offered for change of mind merchandise purchases.  

  • It is not possible to transfer your entry to someone else who is wanting to do a different distance event (i.e. Half Marathon to 10km).  

  • To transfer an entry to someone else, the initial registrant must log in to their My Registration select ‘Transfer Registration’ and follow the necessary steps. Please note: the receiving athlete will be sent a link to complete the registration and will need to pay for the entry (at the current entry price advertised at https://runawaysydneyhalf.com.au/entry-info/in order for the transfer to process, then the original athlete will be refunded their entry fee less the $27AUD including all fees and taxes transfer fee.  

  • Athletes who deferred into this event, are required to contactrunawaysydney@theironmangroup.comto request a Person-to-Person transfer.   

 

**As stated in the Athlete Waiver, under no circumstance are you permitted to give your bib to another person. The safety of our athletes is paramount, therefore we need to ensure we have correct details of all our athletes on course.  

Athletes can make changes to their selected start group up until each group sells out. Once a start group has sold out, we are under to make any further changes as all groups are subject to strict capacity limits.

Race Bib & Postage

Location: St Mary's Cathedral Square, College Street, Sydney (Google Address here)

Date: Friday 2 May 7:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday 3 May 8:00am – 4:00pm.

If you are unable to attend Athlete Check-In, someone will need to collect your race bib on your behalf during check in opening hours.

You will need to provide them with a copy of your confirmation email. 

 

HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon offers an optional additional purchase of race bib postage for a limited time to domestic addresses only. This is available from 23 August 2023  – 31 January 2024 inclusive, after this time unfortunately there is no possibility for further race bib postage.  

You will need to update your postal address on your existing registration. Login to your existing registration via your My Registration to edit your personal details.  

Please note: After 10 March there is no ability to change/update your postal address, it is the athlete's responsibility to ensure postal address is correct, no refunds will be provided for incorrect postal address.  

Do not worry! If you haven’t received your race bib, our team will need to re-allocate you a new race bib at athlete check-in.  

If you are unable to attend athlete check-in, someone will need to collect your race bib on your behalf. You will need to provide them with a copy of your registration confirmation. 

Athlete race bibs will begin arriving towards the end of April 2025. All bibs are sent in April regardless of when you complete your registration. 

ie: If you register in December 2024, your race bib will still be sent in April 2025. 

Athlete Check-In is only for athletes who need to collect their race bib. Of course, if you have your bib - you are welcome to come visit and check out the Sports Expo! 

General Event Info

Yes, the below are the cut-off times for the 2025 event. 

Half Marathon – Due to course management and road closure restrictions there are cut-off points on-course. This means the half marathon cut-off time is 3 hours.

10km – 9:15am cut-off for 10km runners. (Avg pace of 12min/kms)

Start Group times for 2025 will be updated closer to race day on the Event Schedule.

If you forgot to add these items during your registration, you can log back into your registration and add them via your My Registration  

 

Half Marathon - Due to course management and road closure restrictions there are strict cut-off points on-course. Runners will need to maintain an average pace of 9:15 per km to ensure they meet these times. 

10km You are able to walk the 10km race, provided you maintain an average pace of 12min/kms, this is required to meet the cut-off time of 9:15am.
